Admission To Membership
Any Serbian Choir desiring to join the Federation must:
- Be affiliated with a church, which is affiliated
with one of the four present Dioceses of the Serbian Eastern
Orthodox Church of the United States of America and Canada,
or the New Gracanica Metropolitanate.
- Make written application directed
to the Federation Headquarters accompanied by:
- A copy of the applicant choir's proposed By-Laws.
- An initiation fee of $50.00.
- Have the burden of proving to the
Executive Board that it:
- Is an organization independent in its leadership and management.
- Has its own duly elected officers and maintains its own set
of minutes, and financial and other records.
- Is not a branch or subsidiary, or subservient to any other social,
business, religious, political, or fraternal organization.
- Choose its choir's name from a list of
available names submitted to it by the Executive Secretary, provided
that the word Serbian must be a part of every member choir's name.
Upon receipt of the written application, the Executive Secretary shall:
- Submit a list of available names to the applicant choir,
consisting of names of three Serbian Poets, and three Serbian
Composers, or the name of the Church wherein the applicant choir
sings, or will sing, provided that the word Serbian must be a part
of every choir's name.
- Notify the Executive Board of such application.
Upon the affirmative vote of a majority of the members of the Executive Board,
such applicant choir shall be accepted into membership.
